Plastic recycling plays an essential role in the modern PET industry. In close cooperation with our suppliers and customers, we can offer PET preforms with recycled PET products. Recycled PET materials can be used in the production of new PET preforms and plastic bottles thus minimizing the industry’s environmental impact.
Already today 100% of our consumed energy is being produced from renewable resources. Furthermore, with modern preform production infrastructure as well as advanced PET resins, we are able to mold bottles with lower temperatures thus substantially decreasing energy consumption. We also promote energy saving to our customers by consulting and providing them control solutions aimed at improving the efficiency of production processes and energy consumption.
Being a prominent member of the international PET community, we also understand our responsibility before the society we work and live in. With this in mind, we pro-actively support various sport, educational, charity and other public initiatives.
Amongst other, Putokšnis and its members continuously work with Lithuanian colleges, schools, kinder gardens and other educational and cultural organizations aiming to support the rise of a new generation of qualified specialists. We also are a long-standing general partner of the Lithuanian and international rugby champion – BaltRex club. In addition, we support a non-profit Lithuanian Free Market Institute and other organizations and initiatives. Since 2019 instead of sending Christmas gifts to clients and partners, our employees vote and select a charity or non-profit organisation which we donate to, thus supporting those who need it the most.
Putokšnis is awarded with a special gratitude from Lithuanian Centre of Non-Formal Youth Education for providing pupils with an opportunity to explore professions in practice as well as gratitude from Panevezys College for supporting social partnership and participation in the “Education of high qualification specialists in Northern Lithuania” project.
For decades Polyethylene terephthalate (or simply PET) remains as the most common resin of the polyester family used in the production of various everyday products, including clothing, food containers and other.
Under high temperature PET raw materials (granules and/or flakes) are being melted to a liquid condition to give them required preforms afterwards.
Smaller then final forms and thus convenient for logistics preforms are being transported to special facilities where they are being molded to bottles or other plastic containers of required shapes and sizes. Subsequently, plastic bottles are being filled with liquids and ready for delivery to end consumers.
Following the consumption of their content, plastic bottles and similar containers are being sorted, pressed and delivered to PET recycling facilities.
Used plastic bottles are being thoroughly cleaned from non-plastic elements and recycled until they transform back to FDA PET flakes and Rpet granules.
PET flakes and Rpet granules are re-introduced to the production of PET preforms thus lowering the demand for production of new plastic materials and minimizing the industry’s impact on the environment. Each plastic container can be recycled and re-used in production of new containers for numerous times.
